Fall

How I love fall!  Allergies seem to decrease, the temperature certainly decreases, and the leaves descend in the most awesome colors!  This is the first autumn that Maxwell has gotten to experience the greatness of this time of year.  He loves the crunch of the leaves, he repeatedly picks them up and hands them out like little presents for us all.  He does not like stickers.  I mean who does, but this child acts like he’s been shark bitten when he encounters one of the prickly beasts.  Poor thing.

Along with autumn comes Halloween.  I LOVE Halloween!  Isaac was a vampire and Maxwell was the Tin Man.

I dressed up like Gilly off of that SNL skit.  I don’t think many really “got it”, but I enjoyed it.  Every time Matthew would use the teachers voice from the skit and call Gilly’s name, Maxwell would cry.  He did not like the deep, you’re in trouble voice.  It was funny the first couple of times, but after that it was just plain sad!  No more Gilly-talk around here.

Isaac also carved a pumpkin… or should I say, he and I carved a pumpkin.

What do all these fall festivities lead me to do?  You guessed it!  Coffee-Martini’s.  Equal parts of Vodka, Bailey’s Irish Cream, and Espresso.  Shake it like you mean it, poor into a frosty Martini Glass.  Yum-yum….DSC00962
